A Sunday Outing

A couple of Sundays ago we were needing to get out of the apartment so we went and walked around the Arboretum for a little while. It was a good opportunity to try out the new camera Bryan received as a graduation gift from his parents. We are having so much fun figuring out how to use it!!
Here are a few of our favorite shots we got during our litlle outing:

What a cute family I have!!!

It's official: She's OBSESSED!!!

I've suspected it for awhile now, but it's official!
Grace is OBSESSED with everything pink, princessy, and frilly!
I'm not quite sure how she figured out that "pink is for girls," seeing how I'm not much into pink and frills myself, but somehow she knows!
Here's proof:

#1:
Of the practically millions of toys we own, the only one that will really entertain her for any significant amount of time is this princess castle and princesses.
#2
She likes to pick out bows for her hair and always chooses anything pink
The more pink, the better, seems to be her philosophy.
Cute, isn't it? :)
#3
She LOVES her tutu that Aunt Katie made her for Christmas.
She wears it over anything and will wear it anywhere - if we let her!
It is literally falling apart from use and I frequently
find pieces of tutu through out our home.
#4
She always wants to wear her pink shorts and shirts,
and if those are dirty she heads for her skirts or dresses.
Yeah, she comes up with some pretty stylin' combos!
(oh, she is still so super CUTE!)
#5
We went grocery shopping the other day and I let the kids push their own little carts. Grace was grabbing anything pink and trying to put it in her cart. Kool Aide, princess fruit snacks, crackers....
#6
I do the music time in the nursery every other month and we have these shakers made from plastic Easter Eggs that we use with the kids.
There is only ONE pink egg.
Guess who runs up every Sunday and takes it before anyone else can?
Guess who only colors with pink crayons and pink markers?
Guess who will only wear her pink flip flops?
I'm telling you, she's OBSESSED!!
There may be hope though. I've been noticing that she is willing to settle for purple when pink isn't an option....
:) :) :) GIRLS!! :) :) :)

A Few Guymon Firsts

May was a pretty busy month around here,
and we experienced a few things for the first time!
FIRST PINEWOOD DERBY:
Our ward held a family Pinewood Derby so we got to put together our first racer. It was quite the experience, seeing how we don't have very many tools. But, with a screwdriver, hand saw, and file in hand, Bryan got the job done! Joshua and I did the paint job.
Not too shabby, eh?

I'm glad we took the picture for y'all to see because Joshua was playing
with it today and rolled it up in the rug and squished it.
The poor thing lost all it's wheels and a few other parts as well.
Bye bye, racer.... :)
FIRST FATHER AND SONS CAMP OUT:
The weekend after the Pinewood Derby our ward held their annual Father and Sons camp out. Joshua was SOOO excited! He had been looking forward to it for a month or so and had picked out the menu weeks in advance: Hot dogs and Marshmallows! They had a great time. . . at least according to Joshua who slept uninterrupted all night. Thankfully he missed the pouring rain and thunder that kept his daddy up most of the night! :)

FIRST MOTHER AND DAUGHTER NIGHT:

Well, since the boys were away we had to do something fun! We celebrated in true girly fashion: we colored pictures of Cinderella, made bracelets, visited with our friends, and watched Little Einsteins. What a party!

And perhaps the most exciting 'first' of all...

Duh Duh da Duh.....
WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF BUYING OUR FIRST HOME!!!

So many people have been asking what we are
doing now that Bryan has graduated, so here is the scoop:

Bryan is studying like a madman for the Bar Exam, which is the end of July. Two days after the Bar we will be moving to this beautiful little place:

That's right, small town, here we come!
We are really excited!! Don't worry, my excitement came as a surprise to me, too! :)

And of course, we needed a place to live, so here is what we've found:
Outside shot - minus the nice truck, of course :)
We are fresh out of law school, you know!
This is my favorite part of the house:
Open living room, kitchen and dining area Yep, that's right.
It's got funky wallpaper, dark paneling, yellow counter tops, the whole 70's outfit.
And I LOVE it!!
It's a house....almost 2000 square feet of house....and it is going to be OURS!!!
It has a backyard, too.
Can you imagine the space?!?
I'm sure most of you can,
but come check out our apartment and you'll understand. :)
The kids and I drove up to have it inspected a couple of weeks ago.
I was following the inspector around and Joshua and Grace were running crazily through the empty house.
At one point I was in the kitchen and they were in the farthest bedroom.
I could barely hear them!!
They were rolling in the carpet
(it does have nice new carpet that we are really looking forward too!),
pretending to swim in it.....
We are going to love this place!!
