Oh the joys of Easter!!

Easter is one of the times that I miss being in Utah, so we were excited to be able to stop in Plano on our way home from Virginia and spend Easter with my uncle, aunt and cousins!! It was fun to spend the holiday with family, and Joshua and Grace loved playing with my cousins.
The first picture of Joshua during the egg hunt. He had a blast!

This next picture is of Joshua showing of the toys that were in his easter basket.

He is really in to Cars the movie lately and was SOO excited to find a little

Lightening MacQueen and Mater in his basket! What a lucky kid!

We had an easter egg hunt out in the backyard. The kids loved it! I think it comes with Henke genes to go way overboard on the candy at Easter, but you certainly won't find us complaining! :)
Grace was snatching up the candy left and right! She's a pro at drooling
anything colorful and sticky all over herself! She is really just too adorable! :)

These next few pictures are the family shots that Uncle Don took.
They turned out very nice!

And of course, the traditional Henke family picture!

Spring Pictures

While in Virginia, Russ and Katrina were kind enough to share their photographer with us. The kids were not as cooperative as I would have liked, but Lindsey must be a good photographer because she still got some really cute pictures!!

Virginia Vacation!!

Whew!! We are back from our wonderful trip to Virginia, and I am
finally caught up enough to post some pictures of our travels!
The kids really did pretty well in the car. Grace has less patience for long car rides,
but she did very well considering that 26 hours one way
REALLY is a long time for a wiggly one year old! :) We left early in the morning
most of the days so that they would sleep the first couple of hours.
They are so cute (and QUIET) when they are asleep!

The best part of our Vacation was seeing family! We hadn't seen Russ, Katrina, and Cole for over a year, and we had, of course, never met Garrett, so it was quite a treat to get to spend some time with them!
Here is cousin Cole. He is so CUTE! He and Joshua played together
really well, as if they had been playing together everyday! It was fun
to see them have so much fun being cousins! Joshua kept calling him
Coleski and his "buddy" - how cute is that!?!

And of course everyone wanted to hold sweet baby Garrett! He is one handsome little guy, that is for sure! Grace got really excited everytime she saw him and would start squealing and immediately come over to touch him. To her credit, I think she only poked him in the eye two or three times - Sorry Baby Garrett!

Joshua was SO excited to hold baby Garrett - he wouldn't give him back! He kept saying "Look, mom, he likes me!" "Look at his little hands." So precious!
I thought this was a cute picture. The boys were watching Thomas the Train so they wouldn't look at me, but I thought they looked a little bit a like - how fun!
And of course we had to see a few sights while in Virginia! These first few pictures are from Jamestown. It was so pretty, right off the James River.
Unfortunately, the kids had had enough sight seeing by then! Check out Joshua's face :)
These pics are from Williamsburg. It was fun to see some glimpses of colonial life.

Here the kids and I are sitting in George Washington's pew at the church.
We also spent one day in Washington, D.C., which was fabulous! We love D.C.!! Our favorite part (at least the adults favorite part!) was the WWII memorial! So NEAT!
WWII memorial

It was windy and cold!
Jefferson Monument - Bryan took the cool picture!
Iwo Jima - U.S. Marines Monument. I've been reading "Flags of our Fathers" which is about iwo Jima, so we had to stop and see it.
And of course the trip wouldn't be complete without a little mishap! We had the spark plugs in our car replaced before we left, and apparently they weren't put in correctly. Now, I don't know much about cars, but I'm pretty sure that spark plugs aren't supposed to just shoot out of your engine as you're driving down the freeway!! Luckily no one was hurt, some very kind people helped us out, the damage was minimal and repairable, and we were back on the road two hours later!! I was a little worried, though, when I saw the name of the tow truck company! :)

Four fun years full of memories!!

Yesterday was our fourth anniversary!! Whoo hoo!! I had this cool idea to post a whole bunch of pictures from our wedding day until now, but of course I didn't get to it! :) So here it is: four years of fabulous memories, one day late!! Enjoy!
