Whew!! We are back from our wonderful trip to Virginia, and I am
finally caught up enough to post some pictures of our travels!
The kids really did pretty well in the car. Grace has less patience for long car rides,
but she did very well considering that 26 hours one way
REALLY is a long time for a wiggly one year old! :) We left early in the morning
most of the days so that they would sleep the first couple of hours.
They are so cute (and QUIET) when they are asleep!
Here is cousin Cole. He is so CUTE! He and Joshua played together
really well, as if they had been playing together everyday! It was fun
to see them have so much fun being cousins! Joshua kept calling him
Coleski and his "buddy" - how cute is that!?!
And of course we had to see a few sights while in Virginia! These first few pictures are from Jamestown. It was so pretty, right off the James River.
Unfortunately, the kids had had enough sight seeing by then! Check out Joshua's face :)
These pics are from Williamsburg. It was fun to see some glimpses of colonial life.

Here the kids and I are sitting in George Washington's pew at the church.
We also spent one day in Washington, D.C., which was fabulous! We love D.C.!! Our favorite part (at least the adults favorite part!) was the WWII memorial! So NEAT!
WWII memorial

It was windy and cold!
Jefferson Monument - Bryan took the cool picture!
Iwo Jima - U.S. Marines Monument. I've been reading "Flags of our Fathers" which is about iwo Jima, so we had to stop and see it.
And of course the trip wouldn't be complete without a little mishap! We had the spark plugs in our car replaced before we left, and apparently they weren't put in correctly. Now, I don't know much about cars, but I'm pretty sure that spark plugs aren't supposed to just shoot out of your engine as you're driving down the freeway!! Luckily no one was hurt, some very kind people helped us out, the damage was minimal and repairable, and we were back on the road two hours later!! I was a little worried, though, when I saw the name of the tow truck company! :)

Looks like a fun trip. I can't believe how much Cole and Joshua look alike. CUTE! We would never make it on a trip that long, but wish we could to have the memories.
i love the name of the tow truck. whoever owns that company has a lot of guts!
